The Texas Longhorn offensive line gains an $800,000 sponsorship in 2022. The money comes from the non-profit Horns with Heart, which was formed specifically to help University of Texas student-athletes with opportunities to make positive impacts on their communities, and on charities that are close to their hearts while utilizing their Name, Image, and Likeness.
The sponsorship program is called “The Pancake Factory.” It’s the first of its kind to support a football position group to participate in charitable endeavors that impact both the University of Texas as well as the community at large. The Pancake Factory name refers to a “pancake block” which describes a block by an offensive lineman that leaves a defensive player flat on his back.
Horns with Heart intends to target many more player-focused charitable programs in the weeks and months to come for other football position groups and within other University of Texas athletic programs. The goal is to make the programs sustainably funded on a yearly basis into perpetuity.
Players from other University of Texas position groups took notice.
Horns with Heart was founded by six University of Texas alumni and supporters with experience across multiple industries and disciplines. Clark Field Collective is a key participating donor to Horns with Heart. Clark Field Collective provides assistance to The University of Texas college athletes by cultivating and facilitating NIL opportunities.
