In a first of its kind agreement, a business will offer financial benefit to all student-athletes on all of a university’s female athletic teams. Address verification company, SmartyStreets created the deal for BYU women athletes. Each female student-athlete will be compensated up to $6,000 for sharing information about SmartyStreets on their social media accounts and participating in various company events. BYU has more than 300 female athletes. The total compensation from SmartyStreets could surpass $2 million. SmartyStreets is also donating facility and equipment upgrades for BYU female athletes.
In a company blog post, Jonathan Oliver, Founder and CEO of SmartyStreets said: “The dedication, commitment and hard work of these strong female athletes is often not as visible. We are excited to provide an additional spotlight on these athletes to create opportunities for them to build their personal and professional brands.”
